Sports enthusiasts kicked off season at the Fall Sports Players Ball at the King Bar by David Burke inside The Garden City Hotel. The low lighting inside the Kings Bar provided an intimate and lush setting to unwind after a long day. Attendees sat at the bar, a table, or in a cozy lounge sitting to watch the Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals game while sipping on cocktails and noshing on David Burke’s tailgate-themed food.
The menu for the Player’s Ball 2018 consisted of grilled lamb ribs with Moroccan sauce and toasted nuts, a loaded baked potato with candied bacon, sour cream and scallions, grill k-town wings with green onions, a Chicago style lobster roll with mustard, tomato, sport peppers, celery salt and pickles and a prime rib steak sandwich with brûlée cheese. If you’re looking for a sweet way to finish your meal, the oatmeal cookie sandwich with a bourbon pecan filling and churros with cinnamon sugar and salted caramel are sure to satisfy.
Steiner Sports provided over 30 autographed sported related items benefitting the USO of Metropolitan New York, a nonprofit organization that provides live entertainment and other programs to members of the United States Armed Forces and their families. Some of the silent auction items included a Joe Namath autographed football, a Bo Jackson autographed framed picture, a Patrick Ewing signed basketball and much more.
Guests were also given other incentives to make a donation to USO. People who made a donation under $50 received a complimentary appetizer and guests who donated $50 plus dollars got a cigar and a gift certificate to the Red Salt Room.
The Red Door Salon & Spa provided relaxing hand and chair massages to release tension and stress. Black Beard Barbershop provided hot shaves and haircuts to keep you looking fresh and ready for the weekend.
