It’s easy to get out of shape during the winter when it is too
cold to go outside, and there are tempting treats everywhere
during the holidays. However, you can get back into shape
before you have to wear a swimsuit. Use these tips to get beach
body ready before summer arrives.
Change Your Daily Diet Changing your diet is one of
the best ways to lose weight. The fi rst step is getting rid of
the unhealthy foods in your kitchen. Toss out the containers
of ice cream and bags of potato chips so that you can avoid
hundreds of empty calories. Visit your local supermarket or
farmers market, to fi nd fresh vegetables and fruits that you can
eat for a healthy snack. Not only will you lose weight quickly
by eliminating sugar and saturated fat, but you will have a
healthier glow when you are consuming foods with the proper
vitamins and minerals.
Walk Outside Walking is an easy exercise that you can do
at your own pace. If you haven’t exercised in several months,
walking in your neighborhood is low impact and won’t injure
your joints. In addition to burning calories, you can tone your
legs and torso while walking. If you want to tone your arms
and shoulders, swing your arms while walking or carry small
handheld weights in your hands. Walk up and down hills to
workout the front and back of your legs.
Exposure to Sunlight Exposing your skin to sunlight in
will increase your energy levels, and give you skin a sun-kissed
look so you’ll look better in a swimsuit. If you are trying to
get vitamin D from the sun, sit out for 10 minutes in the midday
sun without sunscreen. If you plan to be outside for a long
period of time, use sunscreen lotion to block the dangerous
ultraviolet light from the sun. Apply sunscreen several times a
day to protect your skin.
Join a Local Gym If you can’t afford an assortment of
expensive exercise equipment, look for an inexpensive gym
membership. Some gym memberships are inexpensive when
you only want to use the basic equipment rather than joining
the classes and using the additional amenities such as the spa
area. To get a beach body quickly, visit the gym on a regular
basis between 45 minutes to an hour a day, rather three times a
week for 30 minutes. Remember it takes between 20-30 minutes
for your body to just get into the fat burning zone.
Hydrate Did you know that drinking water can help you
lose weight? Drinking water before meals can help decrease
appetite and calorie intake, leading to weight loss. Swap out
other beverages for water, this is a great way to reduce calorie
and sugar intake. Remember to drink 8, 8oz glasses of water
